Truths of a Soldiers Mind

Bullets fly through the cloudy air
Bombs explode shaking the earth
People scream with the pain of death
Seeing nothing while walking through poppies
Hiding in deep trenches
Anticipating going over the top
Running to death into machine gunfire

Friends dieing left and right
Rushing for the gas masks
For some it too late their lungs filled with poison

Family back home with no idea
Cheering as if the war is good
Forgotten soldiers give their lives
Troops on the move not looking back
Destroying all the towns on the way

Innocent people now with no future
Not sure whos winning
Its all a blur
Cant think anymore
Its all just kill kill kill
When will people know the truth
When will they see all the pointless deaths
When will the realze its for nothing
And when will all the forgotten soldiers be recognized
for the heros that they really are.
